How do I battle the brutal summer heat in my pond?
During the brutal heat of the summer there are four extremely important items to keep in mind for your fish during the brutal summer heat.
1. Oxygen- make sure your waterfall is running and turn that aerator on!
2. Shade- Add some water lilies, floating plants or even a temporary canopy.
3. Water- Evaporation happens, and quickly during these heat waves. Make sure the pond has water to keep that pump running.
4. Feed only once a day- early morning is best or not at all during this extreme heat.
