How do I overwinter my Lotus?

Some of you may be asking yourself, What is a Lotus?
In our opinion it's the most beautiful plant you can possibly have in a pond.
Check out that flower! It's Amazing and they will winter over in our area as long as you take a few simple steps.
Typically this plant is placed close to the pond surface. There are two steps that need to be taken to winter over these beautiful pond plants.
1. Cut back the growth to 2-3" above the pond
2. Place the lotus pot into the deepest part of the pond. 18" or more is best.
If the pot and the lotus tubers freeze, the plant will die. That's why we need to place it in deeper water.
